About
Hi, I'm Shea.
Grew up in Standish, Maine. Fascinated with computers since I was a kid.
Before this, I worked in the trades — sealcoating, landscaping, paving. All small local outfits, the kind where you're shoulder-to-shoulder with the owner every day. That's where I actually learned how these businesses run. The margins, the seasonality, the difference between a good day and a bad one, what brings customers in and what loses them.
A friend asked me to build him a site when he started his business. That's when it hit me — most small businesses around here don't have one. The ones that do are usually fighting with it themselves, watching customers slip through the cracks because the form doesn't work, or the site loads slow, or it just looks like it was built in 2008. I've seen owners lose real money to bad websites, and I've watched them try to fix it on their own between jobs because that's all the time they had.
That's why I built Rankisity. Small local businesses deserve sites that actually work for them, built by someone who understands what their day looks like.
A few things about me outside of work
- Black coffee is the hallmark of a good breakfast joint. If they can't get the coffee right, the eggs aren't going to save them.
- I hike, climb, and do pretty much anything that gets me outside and moving.
- I respond to emails faster than you'd expect.
